I like the way the horizontal stripes in the background mimic and, at the same time, contradict the alternating black-and-white streaks in her hair and the vertical lines on her sweater.
Thanks, Mick. I thought this cahellenge was a hard one, because it's so obvious somehow!
Doesn't she, Nancy!
The original photo was also quite nice, because of the wooden ceiling and the softness of the sweater, Kenneth, I just had to soften everything a little more!
Was it really necessary to add the blur in the right? Part of the rug is blurred but the lines in the side of the rug are not. I just thought it could have worked without that. At first glance that blur looks great but after a while I questioned the use of it.
Certainly a very nice photo! I tried to find out something more about Kirsti E and found hundreds of sites and blogs... unfortunately not in a by me understandable language.

A wonderful portrait here Susu. :)
Excellent shot. She definitely looks like an intellectual!

A matter of taste, chrome3d, I like it blurred, but I can also see that it doesn't please eveybody. I wanted Kirsti's face to come out from the blur.
Certainly a very nice photo!

Finnish is the one and only language in this matter, Peter!
