harry lime
became a slime
as he crossed the line
like a greedy swine
chorus:
oh, harry, oh,
stick to your wine!
better to drink
forget how to think
or else you’ll sink
begone in a wink
oh, harry, oh,
pigs are pink!

I just bought the new Criterion DVD of The Third Man with Orson Well as Harry Lime. That movie is one of my favorite film noir. Graham Greene's book, of course, occupies a prominent space on my shelf too.
It's a good film, Kenneth. Greene is one of my absolut favourites, his novels are amazing.
Nice, nice, nice! I like this post. Pic and poem together makes this so fun. So Susu. =)
LOL By the way, always when I'm at your blog, your map tells that visitor from Singapore...huh! I wonder am I where I think I am...:))
As I sat studying this image I began to think that if the cubists had started with computers and paint, this is just the sort of thing they'd have come up with! :)
Singapore! Vau, Kirsi, you must be lost!
Yes, the pic and the poem are so Susu, I agree!
It's a pity they hadn't the tools, Mick, and lucky for us to have them!
I must be a rat
as I don't wear a hat.
Give me a dime
so that I can call Lime
to ask him for his hat
so that you don't think I'm a rat.
(I'm lousy at riming,
it must be the timing,
working on a Saturday morning
is a lousy thing.)
Hahhah, HPY, I do remember the time you said that you never write poems!!!!
I always like B/W illustrations and this makes no expection...funny poem as well!
Thanks, Aynaku. B/W is quite soothing in its simplicity, the world is so full of colours, voices and movements -sometimes it's necessary to have less of everything.
