Kiasma -beautiful in my eyes

I love to visit Kiasma, The Museum of Contempary Art in Helsinki. What exhibition there is going on doesn’t matter (now there is ARS 11).

I visit the building because of its maginificent architecture by Steven Holl

The outside og the building is nice to look at, but above all I love the inside of the museum.

Light and shadows in exhibition halls and especially in corridors and stairs thrill me.

The lines and angles of ceilings and walls are relaxing, beautiful and inspiring, just to look at or to take photos.

I took some photos visiting there yesterday with my friend

Hope you enjoy these photos.

Your photos are exquisite - but how could they be anything else with such a building? Thank you!

Beautiful stuff! Good set of photos. They tell how much you enjoy the building. Love the curves as well!

Jinksy! Nice of you to drop by! Yes, that building is awesome!

Lepis, I know we both love that building!

KooTee, kiitos! Arvostan kommenttiasi. Joskus pitää ottaa kuvia, jotka eivät ole silkkaa manipulaatiota.

This is the second time I've heard the name of Stephen Holl in as many days.

That's interesting, Mick. What was the firs occasion?

So, all more or less modern buildings in Helsinki are not by Aalto!
Stephen Holl had a project for an art museum (Pinault collection) in Paris (or Boulogne-Billancourt), but it was abandoned for reasons which had nothing to do with him or his project and now all Pinault's cleections are exposed in Venice.

Peter, luckily not all are by Aalto!

Steven Holl has succeeded well with Kiasma.

You must be the only person who thinks Kiasma looks nice outside. I hate its facade though it's nice inside. :D

I'm not so crazy about the building outside but inside totally different. I like it.

Nice shots.I like the way you look at things in the building with the help of your camera.I should visit Kiasma again this coming summer...

The first occasion had something to do with a group of designers and architects. I probably couldn't find the reference again even if I had the time to surf.

Elegia, I'm not the only one!

Thanks to you, Kiirepakolainen.

BLOGitse, there are some interesting lines and corners outside as well.

Yaelian, Kiasma is worth visiting with a camera.

Mick, interesting though.

Arleena, hyvä syy tulla turistiksi Helsinkiin!

Sirokko, rakennus tarvitsisi enemmän tilaa ympärilleen, niin sen kauneus näkyisi paremmin.

I feel that too. Sometimes the white and grey are too much but the tiny colour adds work very weel here.
