Swing in Helsinki

Pentti Lasanen, the Finnish Grand Old Man of swing music, played yesterday at a restaurant in Helsinki, accompanied by his band, conducted by Teppo Salakka. The song group Bulevardin Taxi sang jazz standards, evergreens and songs from musicals, some with the band, some a cappella.

A video of the evening is to be seen here.

That was a great evening.

Your visited Spain, you were lucky to have some sun again.

Yes, it was a nice evening, although swing isn't my most favourite music, I like to listen to it, but in small bits.
Yes, sunny Spain!

The room looks warm and buttery ... very inviting. I'll be waiting in the back, in the shadows, with a glass of Sangiovese for each of us!

Oh, nice, Mick! I'll just take some more photos and then I'll come for a drink!
