I know this building very well. I've even been inside of it. It's very posh indeed!

Oh, you've been there! Wow! i can believe it's as posh inside, Little sister!

I had to look in the dictionairy, I agree it is a posh building, don't like it, but the picture is great

The building is a little too much, especially in Finnish surroundings, but somehow I like this kind of style and architecture, Griesmail.

I was a very small kid then. We went on an excursion there with the kindergarden because one of the kids had Iraqian father who worked there. This family lived in the same house with me and I often went to their home to play and eat Middle Eastern food wich I liked very much.

I dont really remember how it was inside the embassy except for the carpets everywhere.

As weird as the building seems in the Finnish environment it somehow belongs there and cannot be taken away.

You've been a lucky child:)) Excellent food!
Yes, I think this house belongs there.

Maybe I've been listening to U2 a bit to the excess, but I first read that you are participating in Bloody Monday...

Did you change the colour of the building (sepia?) Has it always been that white? I remember the golden windows...

It is a very assuming and wonderful building, Susu. Also, a beautiful photograph. Do they really need a fire alarm box on every column? :D

SusuPetal said...

Kutuharju, it is white, I've been using sepia and glow to make it look more like thousand and one nights.
No, not bloody monday...

Mick, it is annoying, but it is bound to vanish soon, the box belongs to the puzzle I had earlier in one post and when it vanishes from the front-page, the box vanishes, too.

It certainly doesn't look Finnish. Is it in Kulosaari? (Kulosaari is in Finland, as far as I know!)

SusuPetal said...

Yes, HPY, it's the Iraqi Ambassad in Kulosaari.

This is amazing, Wow! Think I have to go to Kulosaari and shoot it (with my camera of course). I like everything big, posh and exotic!

Yes, amazing in the Finnish environment, but for an embassy this may be OK. We have some buildings like this in Paris, where you can see examples of country origins. I have one example on my blog today with an Algerian type building.

Elegia, worth visiting!

Well, I have to go and look at your post, Peter. Been a busy day...

I would like to give you one more award. It suits you so well.

The 'Power of Schmooze Award' is The Award for bloggers who “effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship".

If you accept it, you just pick it up on my blog (the hpy one) today.

And congratulations.

Oh, thank you, HPY, for the reward. I'll pick it up later today, it's going to be a busy day.
