Sex and drugs and rock'n roll

I wish…having had trouble with my back for some weeks, I can assure you, there haven’t been much sex lately.
And no rock’n roll for me either. My head cannot stand any noise for now.

But drugs, oh yes! Pills for head ache, C-vitamins, painkillers for my aching ear, strong tablets for my sore throat, syrup for my cough and lots of hot drinks.

I have the flu.

Luckily, Ian Dury in his time had it better.

  1. As before, I can commiserate with you as regards the back pain. The image, of course, is a treat when considering the song and Mr. Dury. I remember when this first came out and it's really funny to me to see how the merge of 1970's rock into punk worked with The Blockheads. The music is pretty basic - although much more professional sounding than a lot of the punk bands - but the visual style ran the gamut. Facial hair, long hair, glam-rock hold-over clothing - three really BIG things that most punk rockers quickly railed against and did away with within a short year or two. Thanks for turning on the wayback machine here, Susu. :D

  2. That's boring :(( Hope you get better soon! You should drink some alcohol: it kills bacteria. Drink some Kossu and you'd get better ;))

  3. Down the memory lane, Mick! Blockheads sound in fact very chic when listening to it nowadays, compared to some other bands from that time.

But I don't feel like wanting any alcohol, Elina! Not even red wine. I must be really sick...

Back ache is a pain, Liisa, but luckily the back is already better. The flu seems to be off and on.

  15. You must move when you have back ache, at least that's what doctors say today. Throw away the drugs and go along with the sex and rock'n roll even though you don't feel like it. At least you can give it a try.
